In the 1970‘s, at Shihan’s request, Glen Hoyen went on the road to compete in the martial arts elimination trials for the upcoming international Olympics sponsored by America’s most recognized sports authority, the Amateur Athletic Union of the United States, more commonly known as the “A.A.U.”

Glen traveled on the national fighting circuit to face every martial arts style known to exist for over 10 years, proving Okinawa-Te is a superior fighting method to be feared and respected.

To demonstrate the effectiveness of Gordon Doversola’s Okinawa-Te, Glen Hoyen successfully faced fighters from: Jeet Kune Do, Shotokan, Kyokushinkai, Goju, Hapkido, Tang Soo Do, Rembukai, Tae Kwon Do, Kenpo, Kung-Fu, Muay Thai, Ninjitsu, and many more martial art styles.

Glen was the 3-year undefeated black belt champion for the Pacific Association AAU, and winner of the AAU World Championship title.  During his competitive season, Glen Hoyen was rated among California’s Top Ten Black Belts by Karate Illustrated Magazine.  Glen has operated Okinawa-Te martial arts schools for over 20 years. Glen successfully taught the training methods he learned from Shihan Doversola developing many of his students into state and national martial arts champions. He’s worked with Chuck Norris, Jim Kelly, and Jackie Chan.  Glen Hoyen is the 6th black belt of Okinawa-Te system.  He is the Director of Gordon Doversola’s Okinawa-Te Organization ®.
